IKSA Individual Membership Information


The IKSA Individual Membership Program has been instituted for those independent minded martial artists who seek to train and grow and increase their knowledge and skill in the martial arts. We are here to offer support and guidance. We do ask that members value good martial arts principles such as respect for self and others, courtesy, and all the proper protocol when doing your own training and/or interacting with IKSA staff, Charter Members and their students, and all other persons.

We are all students of the martial arts and there are many reasons for our interests in the martial arts. Some of us are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline and self control to their lives. While still others are concerned about safety and self-defense. Whichever category you fall into, IKSA will seek to provide constructive information and positive encouragement to help you achieve your aims and objectives in the martial arts. IKSA gives all members “Roots & Wings”.

Join the IKSA

IKSA members are free to practice Martial Arts in accordance with their own style. IKSA offers its members many opportunities to expand their knowledge and expose them to different styles. IKSA members are independent, but they are NEVER alone.

IKSA Individual Members can:

  1. Attend IKSA seminars
  2. Be promoted through IKSA
  3. Network with other IKSA members for support and ideas
  4. Apply to train under an IKSA staff member
  5. Obtain a current level IKSA rank certificate

  1. 1 year membership - $45
  2. 3 year membership - $75
  3. 5 year membership - $105

Membership Requirements Include:

  1. Minimum two years of martial arts training
  2. Membership Application
  3. Membership dues

The IKSA gives “Roots” and Wings”

Since 1982, the Independent Karate Schools of America has been an association of Independent instructors from traditional stylists to more recently developed systems united together for education, information, safety, and protection of one's martial arts freedom and rights. Those who stand alone, teaching at their own clubs or Masters of their own systems need not feel like rebels. The IKSA offers seminars and workshops, black belt rank advancement, instructor’s certificate which includes the authority to issue rank on behalf of IKSA, international recognition of your rank, exposure to different styles of martial arts, newsletter, and internet exposure for your organization.
